Hydromulch Products

Hydromulch is made from ground cellulose, paperboard, wood fiber and/or poly fiber. Many describe it as “that green stuff that they spray along the roadside.” It’s usually mixed in a tank with water, grass seed, fertilizer, tackifier, and an additive (for early establishment and germination) into a homogeneous slurry and then sprayed on areas with a hydraulic seeder. The purpose is to help prevent erosion and runoff, keep the seed moist during germination, moderate ground temperature, inhibit weed growth and create an attractive appearance. It’s an excellent way to seed large areas such as golf courses, landfills, recreational areas, and around highways and airports.

Hydromulch Additives

Hydromulch additives are added to the mulch slurry to help accelerate the transition from barren ground to stands of turfgrass by balancing pH, conditioning the soil and enhancing root growth.
