Sales Intern/Operations — 8 Weeks
Summer Internship Job Summary
You'll spend four weeks working in the real sales world, working
with one or more Sales Representatives who will be your mentors.
You'll learn about products, planning, sales techniques, scheduling,
customer contact and problem solving. And you'll provide technical
service to end users or sales support to dealers.
Your next
four weeks will be concentrated primarily in an office environment
learning billing procedures, inside sales, shipping, and warehouse
duties. You’ll learn how to communicate and
work with sales representatives, in the field, as well as office
and warehouse personal. You will rotate with each department
to get a complete experience of the Pennington system.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Create demand of Pennington products
by providing technical service and advice to customers
- Gather competitive information through
personal dealer visits and communicate market trends and
future needs
- Promote the responsible
use of Pennington Seed products
- Responsible for investigating, rationalizing, and resolving
assigned product performance claims and informing the Sales
Representative
- Promptly
complete all reports required by Pennington Seed sales representatives
- Develop a good knowledge of the customers
and related territory to perform job (customers, center of
influence, dealers, distributors, competitors, etc.)
- Follow safe driving procedures and practices
as well as product stewardship
- Project professional image and maintain car
and equipment to the highest standard
- Manage expenses in the best way to reach
maximum productivity
