Seeds: Mixtures

Grass mixtures reduce the risk of disease and adapt well to various locations in one area, both open and moderately shady. Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue and perennial ryegrasses are sun-loving grasses and red fescue tolerates shady conditions. Many mixes include a small percentage of turf-type or improved perennial ryegrass because it germinates and grows rapidly. This quick establishment helps protect against soil erosion.
