Seeds: Perennial Ryegrass
Perennial
ryegrass is a cool-season perennial widely distributed throughout
the temperate regions of the world and is important in forage/livestock
systems. The use of perennial ryegrass on golf courses has increased
rapidly during the past several decades, due to its upright growth
habit, tolerance to close mowing and the ease with which reel mowers
can create striping on perennial ryegrass turf. Perennial ryegrasses
are the most versatile of the lawn grasses. They germinate faster,
have better wear tolerance, and are darker green and denser than
Kentucky bluegrass.
